Privacy Policy
This page explains, in plain language, exactly what happens to your camera, microphone and device data when you use this site.
What we don't do
- We don't upload, transmit, or store your video or audio anywhere.
- We don't record your camera or microphone feed to a server.
- We don't require an account, email address, or any personal information to use the tool.
- We don't use tracking pixels, analytics, or advertising scripts.
- We don't load anything from third parties — fonts and scripts are served from this site itself, so your visit isn't shared with Google or anyone else.
How the test actually works
When you select Start Test, your browser — not this website — asks you directly for camera and microphone permission. That permission and the resulting video/audio stream are handled entirely by your browser's built-in APIs (WebRTC's getUserMedia, the Web Audio API, and the Canvas API). The video quality score, microphone waveform, and device details are all calculated by JavaScript running locally on your device. None of it is sent anywhere.
Snapshots you take are created in your browser and saved directly to your device; they never pass through our server.
You can verify this yourself: disconnect your internet connection after the page has loaded, and the camera, microphone, speaker test and quality score all keep working. Only the connection check needs the network.
What we do collect
Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. This site does not run any analytics or advertising service. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first.
The connection check measures latency by requesting a tiny text file (/ping.txt) from this site's own server a few times. Those requests contain no camera, microphone or device data — they appear in server logs like any other page request.
Cookies
This site does not set any cookies.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it. We won't make the policy less protective of your privacy without clearly noting it here.
